KSCRHA sends team to distribute food in drought-hit Mauritania

RIYADH: The King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action (KSCRHA) has sent a team for relief operations in Mauritania which has been hit by drought.
The KSCRHA move is in “implementation of the directives of Custodian of Two Holy Mosques King Salman to provide assistance to the needy and afflicted.”
The KSCRHA team will distribute 60,000 food baskets weighing 2,700 tons in the African country’s affected areas in two days of relief operations.
The team intends to reach and help during two days of relief operations some 38,770 households in Brakna, Kidmaga, Trarza, among other areas.
Mauritanian President Mohamed Abdelaziz received support and sympathy from various sectors.
KSCRHA ‘s relief operation in the African country represents the first humanitarian campaign in cooperation with the Mauritanian Food Security Commission.
Mauritania, which has a population of 4.5 million, is the third country where the KSCRHA has conducted relief operations. The two other countries are Yemen and Tajikistan.
Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, KSCRHA general supervisor and Royal Court adviser, expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Saudi leadership.
